Delete your account

Applies to the FlipFluent app for iOS and Android and to the web app.

You can delete your FlipFluent account yourself, from inside the app or on the web. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

In the app

  1. Open the Profile screen (tap your name or picture on the Today tab).
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  3. Read what will be deleted and what is kept, then type your account email to confirm.
  4. Tap Delete my account. You are signed out and the account is gone.

On the web

Sign in at FlipFluent web, open Settings → Privacy & Data, type DELETE and click Permanently delete my account. The same page lets you download a copy of your data first.

If you cannot sign in

Contact us the way the Support page describes, writing from the email address on the account with the subject "Delete my account". We reply to that same address to confirm it is you, then delete the account within one month, as GDPR Article 17 requires.

What is deleted

  • Your sign-in identity, email address, name, username and profile picture.
  • Your languages and levels, every card review, typed and spoken answer, study session, game, exercise, test and progress record, and the badges you earned.
  • Tutor conversations and the memory the tutor kept about you.
  • Ratings, reports and clones you made in the community library.
  • Device and notification registrations, notification history, message preferences, marketing consents and segment memberships.
  • Certificates issued to you.
  • Internal notes, summaries and health snapshots our team kept about your account.
  • Your personal workspace and the decks in it, unless a billing or audit record or a deck you published still depends on it (see below).

What is kept

  • Billing records — invoices, subscription history, payment-method references, discount and referral redemptions and the payment provider's event records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Your user reference is removed, the email address on payment events is removed, and each event is reduced to its id, type, amount, currency and date.
  • Support tickets — the ticket stays so we can count how many people hit the same problem, but your email address, the subject and the text you wrote are replaced with a placeholder. Replies written by our team stay.
  • Usage counts — AI-usage, product-analytics, experiment-assignment and error-report rows are kept without any link to you.
  • Published decks — decks you published to the community library stay available. Your name is removed from them; the library shows them as published by "anonymous".
  • Audit trail — if you held an operator role, the log of administrative actions you performed keeps your email address, because an audit trail must survive the account it records. Rows you edited or reviewed as an operator lose the pointer to you.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play — cancel it in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings first, or you will keep being charged. A subscription bought on the web is set to end at the close of the current billing period when the account is deleted.

Timing

Records are removed from our live database the moment you confirm. Copies in database backups cycle out within 30 days.
